What is OPA CESS ?

OPA CESS is a charitable trust run by the existing and ex members of Pentecostal Assembly Muscat and its satellite organizations like EX OPA, India, EX OPA USA, and other countries. It is registered under charitable society’s registration act in India and mainly focuses on educational and charitable works in India. OPA CESS in managed by a 15 member committee that changes annually. It is mainly supported and controlled by the parent church, Pentecostal Assembly, Muscat which was earlier known as OPA.

OPA CESS

The name OPA CESS is the short form of Organization of the Pentecostal Assembly’s Charitable and Educational Services Society. It depicts the very purpose of which the society is formed. As a non denominational Pentecostal church constituted by the NRIs in Muscat, OPA has been engaged in a lot of charitable and Christian works in Kerala and different parts of India. However we use to take the assistance of different charitable organizations to coordinate our works here. The members of OPA who have a deep feeling fr the villages in India were always willing to share their God-given privileges with their suffering counterparts in the villages of India. And, no need to mention, God counted it as righteous to reward them in good measures for all what they have been doing for the poor and the needy.

For many years the Church has been thinking of reaching India directly so that the money we spend will be more effective and we get a chance to involve directly in the Lord’s Ministry. The idea of OPA CESS was conceived with this perspective in mind. After many months of study and discussions, the Church approved the idea and formed required bodies to proceed with registration and operations.

THE AIM

OPA CESS intends to involve seriously in the Educational and Charitable activities in India. Initially we will focus on the uneducated villages in North India because we believe that education is the key of changing a nation and leading it into progress. We know that we alone cannot make tremendous changes, but we will work hand in hand with similar organizations and do our part, though small when compared to larger organizations, and show the love of God among multitude through charitable works. We will also focus on the works in Kerala with due importance to help the poor, needy and struggling believers in different areas. We believe that any small amount of good work done is some way contributing to the well being of someone or other and eventually for the benefit of the country.

MEMBERS

The membership in the society is limited to the members of Pentecostal Assembly, Muscat and Ex OPA Members. Ex OPA Members is further explained as those who were enlisted members of Pentecostal Assembly, Muscat (OPA) when they left Oman for good. Therefore it is made compulsory to obtain a certificate for those who are not in Oman at the time they take membership. As it is obvious in the above statement, if someone stops being a member of Pentecostal Assembly Muscat or Ex OPA, he automatically loses his membership in OPA CESS.

All members should agree to respect and follow the official bylaw of PAM, the bylaw of OPA CESS and the rules mentioned in the Memorandum of Association.
